Sakura's Christmas Part 1

Chapter I: Presents From A Tree

Hi there, my name is Sakura Kinomoto! I'm eight years old, and I go to Johnson Elementary in Pennsylvania. You know that time of year when you give a gift to the person you like, well usually around that time I would've decided what to give to that person, but this year I'm having a bit of trouble deciding what to get this year. You see there is this guy I really like and every year I would always get him something really, really pretty using my allowance.  But now this year I have no idea what to get him. Well, I'll just start right from the beginning. It all started when my older sister, Susie noticed that there was something off about me. She was beginning to worry about me; I tried to put on a smile to cheer her up but I couldn't my smile up. Susie walked up to me and she kneeled down to see my face.

"Is there something wrong?" She asked "You don't seem like yourself today."  I looked up at her, put a light smile on my face and shook my head. "There's nothing wrong," I said with a smile "It's just that, um…" I paused for about a minute or two. After a moment of getting together my words, I took a deep breath and exhaled. "You know, that special day that's coming up in a few weeks?" I asked to Susie; She nodded her head at me with a curious look on her face. "And well I'm having a little trouble getting a present for a certain someone, and umm...." I said as I put my two fingers together; I had yet lost my words, and I couldn't think of anything to say this time; plus I felt my face turning red. Susie than smiled and put her hand on my shoulder. "Your having trouble deciding what to get for Shadow, am I right?" Susie asked with a warm smile.

I had than jumped at the fact that Susie had actually guessed that I was having trouble getting a gift for Shadow. "B-but how d-did you k-know that?" I stammered. Susie laughed a little at my stammered; she than patted my shoulder, than my head. "I can just tell," Susie said "I'm technically your big sister you know?" I had than laughed nervously about that part because I had forgotten years ago that her dad and mom adopted me, than Shadow (Shadow and I are not actually brothers and sisters, but we treat each other like that! So don't get the wrong idea okay?) . I had than nodded my head in shame, cause now I couldn't decide what to get him this year. "It's only 3 weeks till Christmas, but all the gifts I think of to get him, but now, I......................... I just don't know what to do. That's all." I said as I looked at down at my feet. Susie had tilted her head to the right but than I had felt her hand on my head.

"Don't worry." She said as I put my head up "I'll help you look for the perfect present for Shadow. My eyes just widen when she had said that. "Really?!" I said as I began to jump up and down. "Sure, when we all go to the mall this Saturday we'll look for a present than okay?" You know I actually forgot about going to the mall this Saturday, that's where we go to get each other presents. "But you can't breath a word about it to him, otherwise it won't be a surprise." Susie said as she put her finger on her mouth. I put a smile on my face and nodded as we started to walk home. I was almost so happy that I thought I was about to fly in the air. We got to the house and we saw, Jack Salmon (In other words Susie's dad, but he is my dad now) talking to Shadow right on the front porch of the house.

           Susie just raised her eyebrow at that sight, and I just tilted my head slightly to the left.
Shadow noticed that we were coming and finished his conversation with him than went inside. Our dad waved to us and we both waved back at him as we approached the house. "So how was your day at school?" he had asked us. "Oh you know the same stuff at school, namely the teacher giving us homework." Susie said; Dad chuckled when Susie said that. "Um dad..." I said, "What were you and Shadow talking about?" "Oh you know, just about how he is in school." He answered. I had just sighed when he gave me that answer, but it's strange though, Shadow never really did have to talk about his problems. Whenever something bad happened he wouldn't talk to anyone. But I don't know could it be possible that he was talking about, something else?
